Lulusan program ini diharapkan memiliki kompetensi dalam mengelola, memimpin, dan mengembangkan kegiatan penelitian yang mengandung unsur kebaruan dan memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang teknologi rekayasa, sistem, dan manajemen agroindustri, demi mendorong kemajuan bangsa serta peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Selain itu, lulusan mampu melakukan pendalaman dan perluasan wawasan keilmuan melalui penelitian dan komunikasi ilmiah dengan pendekatan multi-, inter-, dan transdisipliner dalam ranah teknologi rekayasa, manajemen, dan sistem agroindustri. Kompetensi lainnya mencakup kemampuan untuk mengintegrasikan serta mengembangkan ilmu dan teknologi secara komprehensif guna merumuskan solusi atas permasalahan yang kompleks serta memperkuat sistem agroindustri pada skala nasional, regional, dan global.
